Duon Terms of Use

Last updated: 24.09.2026

Welcome to Duon.

These Terms of Use govern your use of Duon, including the Duon application, website and related services (“Duon” or the “Service”).

By creating a Duon account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. About Duon

Duon is a digital training and coaching platform that connects athletes and coaches through training programs, feedback and communication.

You can use Duon without connecting a fitness device or third-party fitness service.

If you choose to, Duon can connect to third-party services such as Garmin Connect, Strava, Apple Health and other supported services. Connecting a service allows you to bring training data into Duon and use it as part of your coaching experience.

When training data is available, Duon may use it to help athletes and coaches understand training, compare planned and completed activity, identify relevant patterns and make informed decisions about future training.

2. Your Duon account

You are responsible for providing accurate information when creating your account and for keeping your login credentials secure.

You may not use another person’s account or access another person’s information without their permission.

You can stop using Duon and request deletion of your account at any time.

3. Connecting third-party services

Connecting a third-party service is optional and is not required to create or use a Duon account.

You may choose to connect Duon to supported third-party services such as Garmin Connect.

Before Duon accesses data from a connected service, you will be asked to authorize the connection and the relevant data access.

When you connect a service, you authorize Duon to receive and use the data made available through that connection for the purposes described in these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

You can disconnect a connected service at any time.

4. Garmin Connect

If you choose to connect your Garmin Connect account, Duon may receive activity, training, health and fitness data made available through Garmin Connect, depending on the permissions you provide.

This may include information such as completed activities, duration, distance, pace, heart rate and other training or recovery metrics made available through the Garmin integration.

Duon uses Garmin device-sourced data to provide and improve the Duon Service. This may include:

  • organizing and displaying your training data;
  • comparing planned training with completed training;
  • identifying relevant patterns, changes or deviations;
  • helping your coach understand and follow your training;
  • supporting analysis and insights for coaches; and
  • understanding how training programs are followed and completed in order to improve Duon’s training programs and coaching tools.

Duon only accesses Garmin data after you have authorized the connection.

Garmin device-sourced data is not sold or rented by Duon and is not used for advertising purposes.

Garmin is an independent third party. Data provided to Duon is processed by Duon and not by Garmin on Duon’s behalf. Garmin is not responsible for Duon’s processing or use of that data.

5. How Duon uses training data

When training data is available, Duon may use it to understand what happens in actual training, not only what was planned.

For example, Duon may identify whether a planned session was completed, whether the completed session differed from the plan, and how an athlete’s training develops over time.

Duon may also analyze patterns in training activity across the platform to improve its training programs, analytical methods and tools for coaches. This may include learning from patterns such as which sessions are completed, modified or skipped, and where actual training differs from planned training.

These analyses are intended to improve the quality and relevance of Duon’s training and coaching services.

You do not need to provide training data from a connected third-party service to use Duon.

6. AI and automated analysis

Duon may use artificial intelligence and automated systems to analyze training information and support coaches.

These systems may organize and summarize information, identify patterns and deviations, highlight athletes or training sessions that may require attention, and provide insights or suggestions to coaches.

AI and automated analysis are used as decision support for coaches. They do not independently make coaching decisions for athletes. Coaches remain responsible for interpreting the information and deciding how it should influence an athlete’s training.

Information about training behavior and outcomes may also be used to improve Duon’s analytical methods, training programs and coaching support as described in these Terms.

Where Garmin device-sourced data contributes to an analysis, insight or other derived output, Duon will identify Garmin as a contributing data source where required by Garmin’s applicable guidelines.

7. Coaches and access to your data

When you connect with a coach through Duon, you may give that coach access to information relevant to coaching you.

This may include your training plan, completed activities, training metrics, recovery information, feedback, progress and insights generated by Duon.

The purpose of this access is to allow your coach to understand your training, provide feedback and make appropriate adjustments to your training program.

Coaches may only use athlete information available through Duon for legitimate coaching purposes and may not use or disclose it for unrelated purposes.

When a coaching relationship ends, the coach’s access to the athlete’s data through Duon will end in accordance with Duon’s applicable access and retention rules.

8. Your privacy and data

Duon processes personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection law, including the GDPR where applicable.

We aim to collect and retain only the information reasonably necessary to provide, operate and improve the Service.

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or loss.

More information about what information we collect, why we process it, how long it is retained, who it may be shared with, and your rights is available in the Duon Privacy Policy at duon.no/policy.

9. Disconnecting services and deleting data

You may disconnect Garmin Connect or another connected third-party service from Duon at any time.

If you withdraw your permission for Duon to access Garmin data, Duon will stop collecting new data through that connection.

If you request deletion of Garmin device-sourced data, Duon will delete the applicable data in accordance with Garmin’s requirements and applicable law.

Deleting your Duon account will initiate deletion of personal data associated with your account in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable legal requirements.

Some information may need to be retained for a limited period where required by law or necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

10. Health and training information

Duon is a training and coaching service. It is not a medical service.

Information, analysis, training programs, coach feedback and automated insights provided through Duon are intended to support training and should not be considered medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.

You remain responsible for considering your own health and circumstances when training and should seek advice from a qualified healthcare professional where appropriate.

11. Payments and subscriptions

Some Duon services may require a paid subscription.

The applicable price, billing period and subscription conditions will be shown before you purchase a subscription.

Unless otherwise stated at the time of purchase, subscriptions continue for the selected billing period until cancelled.

You can cancel your subscription in accordance with the cancellation options made available through Duon or the platform through which you purchased it.

Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer rights that apply to you.

12. Acceptable use

You may not use Duon to:

  • access another person’s account or data without authorization;
  • misuse information made available through the Service;
  • interfere with the operation or security of Duon;
  • attempt to gain unauthorized access to Duon’s systems or other users’ accounts;
  • copy, extract or exploit the Service or its content in an unauthorized manner; or
  • use Duon or connected third-party services in violation of applicable law.

We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary to protect users, Duon or third parties, or where these Terms have been materially violated.

13. Third-party services

Duon depends on third-party services and integrations, including Garmin Connect.

Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Duon does not control their operation and cannot guarantee that a particular integration, data source or functionality will always remain available.

The availability of an integration does not mean that the third-party provider sponsors, endorses or operates Duon.

14. Intellectual property

Duon and its software, design, content, training programs and functionality are owned by Duon or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Third-party trademarks, services and content remain the property of their respective owners.

Garmin and Garmin Connect are trademarks of Garmin Ltd. or its subsidiaries.

15. Changes to Duon or these Terms

Duon will continue to develop over time. We may introduce, change or remove functionality, integrations and features.

We may also update these Terms from time to time.

If a change materially affects your rights or how we use your personal data, we will provide appropriate notice where required.

The current version of these Terms will always be available at this URL.

16. Termination

You may stop using Duon and request deletion of your account at any time.

Duon may suspend or terminate an account where reasonably necessary to protect the Service or its users, comply with legal obligations, or respond to a material violation of these Terms.

Termination does not affect rights or obligations that arose before termination.

17. Limitation of liability

Duon aims to provide a reliable Service, but we cannot guarantee that the Service, third-party integrations or training data will always be available, complete or error-free.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Duon is not responsible for losses resulting from circumstances outside our reasonable control, including the availability, accuracy or operation of third-party services.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law.

18. Governing law

These Terms are governed by Norwegian law, unless mandatory consumer protection laws applicable to you provide otherwise.

Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer protection or data protection law.
